I think this quote is saying that a person cannot achieve success without striving for success. If a person wants something, they should work for it. No pain, no game is the best  saying to sum this quote up.

The way a person looks at situations can determine the severeness of the solution to a situation. With a positive attitude, a person can accomplish anything that is thrown at them.
